We live in London but in a leafy green bit. I like running in those green bits with my wife, Vivienne and dog, Molly (and my daughter when her social calendar allows!). We all enjoy skiing and Indian takeaways.
The inspiration for Walking the Rain came from my work as a scientist on Mad Cow Disease and the realisation that things could have been much worse if the disease had been spread by the bite of a mosquito.
My kids were the inspiration for the Jack Bootle series. I wanted do replace magic with science which still looks like magic to me.
I am currently working on two books, one of which is about the first overwintering in the Arctic , a very new style for me. The other is science fiction and inspired by a story that I read as a kid.
I thank my friends and family who have enjoyed reading my books and who have pressed me so hard to make them available for others to read. I also thank my Dad for typing up all my scrawl and for being so enthusiastic.
As always, we writers are a frail lot and any appreciation is in turn appreciated
